In efforts of practicing “social distancing”, we ask both our employees and customers wear protective face coverings and maintain a safe distance of 6’ apart when shopping at the nursery. If you have any symptoms related to COVID-19 or have had any contact with anyone who may have COVID-19, please do not come to our facility. We have also encouraged our team to only do what they feel is safe and to not compromise their safety or the safety of others.
If you do not feel comfortable shopping at Brownswood Nursery we will gladly take orders over the phone 843-559-3425 or via email: sales@brownswoodnursery.com and any products or plants will be pulled in advance for easy pickup. We will continue to offer curbside delivery without contact, we will simply leave your plants at the end of your driveway.
Garden Center Most of our nursery is outside. We have open air check out and will continue to uphold a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation. With this benefit, we have made the following adjustments by:
- Sanitation Stations in the Nursery - Limiting the number of people who can enter our greenhouses at one time - Delineated our entrance and exit points to help keep everyone 6’ apart - Not offering nursery tours via golf carts - Postponing all garden classes and workshops
In addition, we are disinfecting our carts, checkout equipment, and other high touch surfaces as well as providing disinfectant wipes to our guests as needed. Fall is a great time to plant trees, shrubs and even update your annuals with cool weather annuals. You will also find organic fertilizers here in our garden center.
Landscape Construction & Maintenance Our Landscape Construction team will continue to operate as an essential landscape installer and maintenance provider with mandatory safety restrictions in place. Brownswood will limit the number of employees on a property and will uphold a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation on all tools and equipment. We continue to ask both our customers and employees to practice “social distancing” and maintain 6’ distances from each other. If you are contracted for services and want to delay your service, please contact our office 843-559-3425 ASAP.
Landscape Design Again, to practice “social distancing” and limit social interaction between clients and designers, we’re offering the option of “No Contact” appointments. If clients or designers would prefer to communicate their requests over the phone or video conference instead of meeting in person, designers are able to do so. Designers then can visit the property alone to take measurements and pictures.
For us to remain open for business we must institute the following procedures for meeting clients in person for appointments:
- Designers will not enter client’s houses - Clients and designers must maintain 6’ distances from each other - No handshaking, no hugging (6’ “air high fives” is a great replacement) - Designers will meet with the homeowner alone and or with their partner/spouse. For designer and client safety we respectfully request that children and pets not be present for appointments
We can review designs over the phone, however, in person plant reviews and design reviews are suspended until the threat of this virus has passed. We will also include a plant palette with your design for easy plant identification.
We plan to be open to the public for the foreseeable future but will continue to monitor the situation through the CDC and SC-DHEC. This virus is dangerous and has proven to be deadly. Please take every recommended precaution for your safety and the safety of others.
Thank you for your continued patronage, Brownswood Nursery
