RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Hand watering
- Checking drip alongside an experienced team member until comfortable doing so independently
- Hand weeding pots in all sales fields, greenhouses, and any plant that has a weed in its pot
- Shaping / Pruning with guidance, deadheading, removing leaf debris in pots, and removing dead limbs and fronds
- Cleaning (Sweeping, raking, retail greenhouses and outside areas as needed.)
- Separating and organizing plants
- Applying granular fertilizer
- Scouting for pests daily (ie. red headed azalea caterpillar)
- Assist with unloading of trucks (when needed)
- Assist with tagging of plants and placing them in their designated areas
- Assist with loading customers' plants once they have received their paid receipts from cashier
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Positive, flexible, self-starting individual
- Ability to see value in collaboration
- Perseverance, sees projects through to completion
- Desire to work outside & likes physical tasks
- Able to handle physical activity such as lifting, loading, and unloading large plants
- Bachelor Degree in Horticulture/Agriculture or related field
- Strong work ethic, integrity, fast-paced
- Proficient computer skills with Word and Excel
- Landscaping/Nursery/Garden Center experience preferred
